Fresh, balanced meals made with care every day

Nutritious food is central to children’s health, development, and happiness. At Mirambeena, all meals are freshly prepared onsite each day by our experienced cook, ensuring children receive wholesome, balanced meals that support their learning and wellbeing. We use quality ingredients, keep sugar and salt to a minimum, and provide a variety of flavours and textures to encourage children to enjoy healthy eating.

We recognise and respect the diverse cultural and dietary needs of our families. Our menus include halal options where possible, as well as pork free and vegetarian meals, and we work closely with families to support individual requirements. Weekly menus are thoughtfully planned and displayed for families to view.

Our nutrition

Healthy eating is woven into our curriculum and daily routines. Children learn about food, nutrition, and wellbeing through cooking experiences, gardening, conversation, and group learning, helping them to make positive food choices and develop lifelong healthy habits.

We model and promote mealtime practices that build independence and social skills — encouraging children to try new foods, serve themselves where appropriate, and engage in relaxed, positive mealtime experiences.

Outdoor wellbeing

Outdoor play is a key aspect of our program, providing opportunities for children to engage in physical activity and develop their gross motor skills. Our outdoor areas are designed to encourage open ended learning, featuring natural resources, ample natural light, and landscaping with native Australian flora and fauna to create a stimulating and enriching environment for every child.

Our rooms

Gumnut

Caring for babies 3 months-2 years, the Gumnut Room provides a calm and nurturing environment for our youngest learners. Experienced educators guide each child with gentle care, providing plenty of space to explore, play, and develop foundational skills in a safe and supportive setting.

Possum

The Possum Room welcomes children 2-3 years with energy, imagination, and discovery. Children can explore an outdoor area for running, climbing, and digging, alongside a dedicated play and art space filled with dress ups, hands on art, and mud play to inspire curiosity. Independence, creativity, and social skills are nurtured in a safe and joyful environment.

Butterfly

Catering to 3-4 year olds, the Butterfly Room provides a warm, play rich, pre-kindy environment where children develop foundational social, emotional, and self-help skills. Through open ended experiences, outdoor discovery, and creative exploration, educators support children to build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging as they take the next steps in their learning journey.

Kookaburra

Designed for 4-5 year olds, the Kookaburra Room offers a stimulating, engaging kindergarten program that nurtures school readiness and lifelong learning. Blending play based learning, nature play, loose parts exploration, and opportunities for safe risk taking, the program fosters curiosity, problem solving, resilience, and collaborative learning in preparation for the transition to Prep.
